In slovakian national history Ocova does not have big place among the villages with huge history. During long years resisted against turkisch attacks and another pillages. In the 18th century in Ocova was born Matej Bel – slavak national scholar. From this village started travelling around the world national artist Jan Rob Ponican. During two world wars survived catastrophes and was almost whole burned down. On the near fields was located second most important airport during Slovakian National Uprising. Ocova has as well altar of workshop of Craftsman Paul from Levoca.
In Ocova was established one of the first agricultural cooperatives in Slovakia, it has been expanded with new lines of houses, industrial, agticultural and community buildings. More than 80 years operates in here Folklore Ensamble Ocovan and its kids follower Polana.
